Story Hour Series Aboard the Arthur Foss

The Center for Wooden Boats is sponsoring a twice-monthly series of free, family story readings aboard the 1889 tugboat Arthur Foss, a National Historic Landmark. The readings are scheduled for the second and fourth Thursdays of the month aboard the vessel, which is moored at the Historic Ships Wharf at South Lake Union Park. The first reading is September 14th at 11:00 a.m. For more information, contact CWB at 206-382-2628.

I was playing Mr. Mom today, so took my 2-1/2 year old to story time on the Arthur Foss. I wouldn't have learned about it had I not seen it mentioned on your blog yesterday.

It was fun; there were probably 15 kidlets there, as a result of one or two daycare centers bringing over a pile of kids.

It was pretty packed inside the Foss's galley, where storytime took place, but Courtney did a great job reading, no kids fell apart, and it wrapped up promptly. Nicely done, and thanks Joe, for mentioning it on here yesterday. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

I'm glad you had fun. My kids are just a little bit too old for this, but the Foss is a wonderful venue for all kinds of activities.
