Sand Man, Tugs Featured in News Stories

The Olympian newspaper in Olympia, Wash. featured two news stories on maritime history, the first focusing on the tug Sand Man, owned by the Sand Man Foundation, and the second on a tour of large tugboats. The stories were part of the community's celebration of Olympia Harbor Days. Sand Man was one of approximately 30 boats from all over Puget Sound that participated in this year's Harbor Days. The historic tug placed second in it's class among four other tugs. "Not bad for a 96 year old boat!" says Don Taylor, secretary of the Sand Man Foundation.
